Hi guys,
I need some new transition songs that let the children move from the group time mat to either lining up outside, washing hands, getting their food, etc.
We used to do "Bee Bee Bumble Bee, can you sing your name to me.... your name is ____?"
however that has been done to death.
One I was thinking of is the Elephant song (Wibbly wobbly woo, an elephant sat on you, wibbly wobbly we, an elephant sat on me, wibbly wobbly watilda, an elephant sat on matilda...)
however i can see that song get VERY annoying after a short amount of time
Thanks for your help!

At my centre we often use the elephant one and a couple of others
If your name is ____, stand up
If your name is ____, stand up
If your name is ____, stand up
And go and wash your hands
Each line you sing a different name, and you can change the last line to suit what you're doing.
Slippery fish, slippery fish, swimming in the water
Slippery fish, slippery fish, gulp gulp gulp!
Oh no! He's been eaten by...
____, ____, swimming in the water
____, ____, gulp gulp gulp!
Oh no! She's been eaten by...
and continue. We use that for the toddlers and they love it, seeing who they get "eaten" by haha

Oh awesome!
I know the slippery fish song, we just sang it as a group time song so the kids should love having it as a transition song.
Thanks so much!

Try this one:
Mariah and Michael, (children's name) jump up and down, turn all around, touch the ground!
Mariah and Michael, jump up and down, now walk to wash your hands.

I have a ball I use during transition. Who ever I pass the ball to needs to go and wash hands, move on to the next activity etc. While using the ball I sing the following as well:
Acka-backa soda cracker, acka-backa boo! Acka-backa soda cracker, pass to you!
