Activities For Children From 6 Months to 5 Years
I work in family day care. Looking for some fresh new ideas for children (both boys and girls) for ages 6 months to 5 years.
Re: Activities For Children From 6 Months to 5 Years
It's easier to base experiences and activities on what a child is interested in, what they did during the holidays etc. So, if a child went to the beach, in home corner you could create a "beach" area with beach umbrella, beach chairs, towels, etc. or the children could make sandcastles from cardboard boxes and decorate with sand from the sandpit etc.

Hello mmd
You can make your own bubblemix. In this you need
1 1/2 cups water
3/4 cups dishwashing liquid
3 tsp glycerine
After this you have to mix it blow air with your mouth. This is really interesting activity.

Hi Mmd,
I'm in Fdc too and to be honest I don't have much of an imagination but last year I got right into Pinterest and it has been the best thing I ever came across. You can type in anything and hundreds of things come up. I focused on reusing and recycling last year and was determined not to spend anymore money on toys etc because the amount of stuff we throw in the bin is ridiculous, the amount of things we made with empty milk containers, yoghurt lids etc etc was amazing and all the children and parents collected what we needed from home for the various activities, it was the best thing I've done and will be continuing that this year.

Hi mmd
Make your day special with Musical Chair Games. It's really interesting games for children.
1. Arrange to 6 chairs for 7 children's
2. One Musical System.
3.You need to have one person be in control of the music for each round of musical chairs that you play. This person will be responsible for starting and stopping the music.
Musical chairs is a game that needs a lot of space in order to play it. Make sure you have a wide open space in a room or outside to easily play the game. You need enough space to have chairs set up in a circle and room for the players to walk around the outside of them.
To play musical chairs, you need to have chairs or seats set up in a circle. You should start with one less chair than the amount of players playing. So for example, if there are 5 people playing, you should have 4 chairs in a circle.
Set up the chairs with the seat of the chair facing the outside of the circle. As soon as the music starts playing, the players walk in a circle around the chairs. You can choose whether to go clockwise or counterclockwise, but all players should go the same direction following the person in front of them. After some time, the teacher, or host should stop the music. When the music stops, each player needs to find a chair to sit down in. There will be one player left without a chair to sit in because there is one less chair than players.
You should be try this. It's Really Wounder and En joyfully Game.

We play board games and i read a lot to them. And have snowball fights. They are squishy snowballs that are super soft but can be thrown and are a lot of fun (i have two boys) so it gets the energy out. I also draw and paint with them.

Activities that are fun to do that also involve learning like games etc. Kids love games and we need to make a good combination of games and learning.
