Resources, Equipment, Age Ranges and Info for new trainee

Question:
• Identity the age group for which it is most suitable.
• Describe the information you might provide a newly appointed Certificate III trainee in relation to specific safety issues and supervision of children.scissor

1. Small cubes and match sticks
A: Age Group 3 years +
Information for new trainee - these are appropriate for pre-schoolers. As they are small and they need to be kept away from babies and toddlers as it is a choking hazard. It is also important to keep on eye out for when

2. Water
A: Age Group 18months +
Information for new trainee as water is a natural resource and has no harm to children of this age, it can be introduced. It also get the toddlers to experiment with the water

3. Sand
A: Age Group From 18 months +
Information for new trainee – sand is a good for children from 18 months as at this age they are beginning to like to feel different textures

4. Large Climbing Frames/slides
A: Age Group 3 years +
Information for new trainee this activity cannot be introduced any younger then 3 years, this is the perfect age to introduce.

5. Scissors
A: Age Group from 3 +
Information for new trainee children will need to have good hand eye coordination to do these tasks, some children will need assistance as they are unable to use scissors

6. Play dough
A: Age Group: 2 years +
Information for new trainee children will like the texture and being able to make different types of things when playing with play dough

7. Natural Materials
A: Age Group: 12 months +
Information for new trainee children from a young age like to explore and feel different textures of items, try and get them outside exploring natural materials as much as you can

Maybe you just need to say something along the lines of how the trainee could supervise the children during each activity and be aware of small parts, children may eat sand or throw it so watch for that, playdough may be eaten, natural materials may have small insects hidden so be aware etc.
