Research and Summarise One Aspect Relating To Legislation & Regulation

Post by christmascrazy » Sun Oct 25, 2020 1:29 pm

i have this question that i need a little help with.

The National Quality Framework is governed by a combination of the Education and Care Services National law and the Education and Care National Regulations. The legislation and regulations vary in each state/territory.
Research and summarize one aspect relating to legislation and regulations of assessment and rating in your area.

I am in NSW so i think ACEQUA however which section for assessment and rating. Thanks so much

The Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) oversees the assessment and rating under the NQS, national law and regs. The state/territory regulatory authority carries out the assessments and rates services.

One big piece of legislation that shapes assessment and rating in early childhood services is the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations. Under this framework, every centre gets assessed against the National Quality Standard (NQS), which covers things like health and safety, relationships with children, and governance.

In Victoria, the Department of Education is the regulatory authority that carries out these assessments. A key regulation is that services must display their rating certificate at the entrance and it’s also published on the ACECQA register, so families can easily see how a service is performing. It’s all about transparency and keeping quality consistent across the sector, while encouraging services to keep improving.
