What is the role of the practitioner in relation to child protection in NSW"?

A Child Protection Practitioner will work with children who are at risk of abuse or neglect.

How can managers support staff in relation to child protection issues?

- Ensure all workers have knowledge, support and resources to fulfill their childcare protection responsibilities.
- Provide information and support to all staff on child protection matters and ensuring all staff and provided with adequate training in child protection and other relevant matters.
- Provide consultation to staff where they have concerns that may need to be reported to child protection services.

Enjoy the rest of your easter break,

Cheers :geek:,

Hi Hassina,

Here are some information about your questions:

1. provide opportunities for children to interact positively with other children and to accept individual differences giving due regard to age culture and development of children?

• Organize experiences which encourage children to play together, in pairs and in small groups.
• Provide equipment/resources for several children to play with (similar toys) simultaneously.
• Organize experiences which encourage children to play together, in both small and large groups.
• Provide culturally appropriate materials for children to use creatively and for role play.

2- evaluate the emotional and psychological stage of the child and plan activities that will enhance their development?

On this site, if you go to Resources then click on Child Stages of Development. It will provide you with the different developmental stages a child goes through. It also has social and emotional development. Have a read though it and you use it as part of your evaluation. Here is the link:

Child Development

To find activities/games to enhance children’s social and emotional development, once again on this website go into Resources and down the bottom you will find Children’s Activities and Games. Once you go into it, in the kids games categories click on “Social development games” and this will provide you with a list of games and activities that you can use to enhance this skill. I’ve also included the link here:

Social and Emotional Development Games

Hope this helps!
