Post by prerna_26 » Sun Sep 11, 2016 12:01 pm

Hi Lorina,
Can you please suggest if my answer is right or more detail required!!!
I don't what to write more than this...

Q12 Describe two ways you as an assistant educator, can contribute to the healthy eating/nutrition policies and procedures at your child care service?

My answer is:
The two ways I, as an assistant educator, can contribute to the helthy eating/nutrition policies and procedure at the child care service:
1-I can help child care educators in sitting with children during meal times and making them relax and discuss the importance of healthy eating.
2- I can avoid eating unhealthy snacks and role model appropriate table manners in front of the children.

Thanks....
Any help is appreciated...

Hi
Another answer from my side is
The two ways I, as an assistant educator, can contribute to the helthy eating/nutrition policies and procedure at the child care service:
1-Assisting educators in helping children enjoy healthy foods.Food can be a great source of pleasure and curiosity for children and babies. The role of ours is to respond enthusiastically to children's interests and to promote a positive attitude to eating healthy food.
2- I can assist educators in making healthy eating plans for children which includes a wide range of nutritious, fresh foods from the five food groups everyday , with minimal intake of processed foods and sugary drinks.

Please suggest!!!

Thanks

You could read the healthy eating and nutrition policies and make any necessary suggestions based on your own experience and knowledge.

Read the NQS based on healthy eating and nutrition and compare it to the policy, procedures in your centre. Make any suggestions based on how they comply against the NQS.
