Re: PAY RATE FOR WORKING TOWARDS CERT 3 EXPERIENCE LESS THAN 6 MONTHS
Current Position
Since you're working towards your Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) and have about 5 months of casual experience as an assistant educator, you would typically be classified as a Level 1 employee under the Children's Services Award.
Pay Rates
Casual: As a casual employee, you would receive the hourly rate for Level 1 plus a casual loading. The base rate for Level 1 is approximately $24.10 per hour, and the casual loading is around 20%. This means your pay rate as a casual employee would be around $28.92 per hour.
Permanent Part-Time: As a permanent part-time employee, you would receive the base rate for Level 1 without the casual loading. Your pay rate would be around $24.10 per hour.
Future Pay Rates After Completing Cert III
Once you complete your Certificate III in ECEC, you would typically move up to Level 2.
Casual: As a Level 2 casual employee, you would receive the hourly rate for Level 2 plus the casual loading. The base rate for Level 2 is approximately $25.78 per hour, and with the casual loading, your pay rate would be around $30.94 per hour.
Permanent Part-Time: As a permanent part-time employee at Level 2, you would receive the base rate for Level 2 without the casual loading. Your pay rate would be around $25.78 per hour.
Full-Time Position
If you were to move into a full-time position, the pay rates would be similar, but you would work an average of 38 hours per week
