Working towards ECT pay rate
Dear, Lorina
I am currently working as room assistant in childcare centre and about to begin Master of Teaching (ECT) at university. And I just wonder how my pay is supposed to be? my current wage is just standard pay $26.66, according to Fairwork wage.

Re: Working towards ECT pay rate
Hi,
Are you Diploma Qualified, if so as per your level you will be on Level 3.4 and as per your wage prior to July 01 it would be $26.66/ but from 01 July, there has been a 4.6% increase so your wage should currently be $27.89/per hour.
As per your master of teaching, you will not receive a pay increase unless you're the ECT of the service. Then it may be possible to receive an increase.

Re: Working towards ECT pay rate
What if my employer have applied for an ECT waiver, and I am studying to become and ECT, Shouldn't my employer pay me the rate of level 1 ECT?
Re: Working towards ECT pay rate
Yes, if your service has applied for a waiver and you and the ECT of the service then you should be paid as a Level 1 of the Educational Services Teachers Award.

Re: Working towards ECT pay rate
Your current wage of $26.66 aligns with Fair Work standards. As you progress in your Master of Teaching (ECT), your pay should increase, especially once qualified. Check your award classification for potential increments. Stay updated on industry pay rates—just like staying ahead in Block Blast!

Re: Working towards ECT pay rate
Your current wage of $26.66 aligns with standard pay, but your Master of Teaching (ECT) studies could impact future earnings. As you progress, you'll gain qualifications that qualify you for higher-paying ECT roles. Discuss your career path with your employer; they may offer pay increases upon completion of certain study milestones or graduation. Research award wages for qualified ECTs in your area to understand potential future earnings.
