Post by ENKATIE » Wed Jun 22, 2022 3:52 pm

Hi Lorina,
I have finished almost all the theory part of cert3 and currently working as part tiem educator wiht one of the companies.
I want to do myplacement somewhere else than the company i am working , as they (my current company) wont allow me
to finish the placement quickly because then they need to raise my wages.
followign is the snapshot of my contract whch talks about conflict of interests:
11. Conflicts of interest
You must not have any direct or indirect interest that would in any way compromise the performance of your duties
under your employment contract or your obligation to always act in the best interests of Guardian. In particular, you
must not hold any position for monetary or other kind of reward which would conflict with your responsibilities to
Guardian.
I am not understading can i rech for placemnt somewhere else or not?
if yes i have two days available i will talk to other centre.
If NO PLEASE let me knwo how to get my placement done at my current centre.
Any suggestions i am really stuck
Thanks

Hi!

Yes, this always seems to be a little issue when you're already working for a centre and you need to complete the placement. Sometimes centres enable you to do the placement within your working hours however some centres don't allow you because they are paying you for working at the centre. So, the best way to go about this is to separate the two. During your usual work hours, you complete your usual duties, then on any days off you go in and complete your work placement separately. If you do it like this then it won't be an issue.
