Does volunteering help to get a job?

Post by Setu » Wed Apr 11, 2018 4:24 pm

Hello,

I am a student doing cert 3 in early childhood education and care, I am doing a full time course. I am not experienced in child care. I am about to start a vocational placement but I also want to look for a part time job or volunteering in a day care.

I need some suggestions and insights about child care industry, I am based in Brisbane.

So I have couple of questions: :)

Is there is a chance to get a paid job if I manage to get a day care volunteering during my certificate course as an experience? and if volunteering is beneficial can you please suggest some of the websites to volunteer in Brisbane?

When is the best time to start looking for a job, during the course or after the course ends?

Is it hard to get a job in the industry especially without experience?

And the last one, does the vocational placement centre hires the student, after the placement gets over?

Thank you!
