Setting Up The Play Environment

Hi,
Would you help me please, i'm stuck here...i'm reading reading and reading so much and could not find out the answer

As a child care worker you will be required to set up a variety of play environment for children.
a) List five checks you will perform when setting up an environment.
my answer: development —physical, intellectual, language, emotional, and social skills.
b)Describe how you choose equipment that is suitable for the children you’re working with
my answer: 1. Physical development, including large and small motor skills
2. Intellectual development, including logical thought, symbolic thought, problem
solving, concentration skills
3. Social-emotional development, including cooperation, empathy, impulse expression and control, trust
4. Creative expression, including problem solving, novel responses
5. Individuality, including self-control, sense of competency, sense of autonomy, self-esteem
OR
Quality child care environments have:
•an age-appropriate, child centered curriculum;
•a variety of inviting equipment and play materials accessible
to children;
•sufficient and uncluttered space for active play with an additional cozy space set aside for individual and quiet play;
•many colorful photographs and pictures including the
children’s own art work displayed at their eye level; and
•windows that provide natural light.
c) Describe how you set up the equipment safely.
i'm stuck on this

Hi, I am on the same question and I have found in my materials from school for the part a:

The Physical Environment Factor
The Behaviour Factor
The Age Factor
Fall Zones around Equipment
I am not sure about the last one because it doesn't clearly says in the book but there is something about smoke alarms and electrical equipment. So I think you would need to find the last one (if you do please let me know as I need that as well :) )

for the number 5 I put Outdoor Play Space but I am not sure if that's correct

I think they are looking for checks such as safety checks, equipment checks, hazard checks etc.
Describe how you choose equipment that is suitable for the children you’re working with

Make sure it suits the skills and abilities of the children and also provides a challenge. Include activities that support children's overall development. Give them open ended materials that they can use in their play and add materials that they are interested in.

• Objects for dramatic play (puppet theater, dress-up clothes)
• Sensory materials (sand, water, play dough)

• Materials that help children develop gross motor skills such as pulling up, walking, climbing in, on, and over, moving through/around and under, pushing, pulling and riding.
OR
For example, music can cross over many developmental areas. It can be intellectually
stimulating, as children learn to recognize rhythms and tunes. Children may learn the words to songs which will support their language development. Music is often
very enjoyable, providing children with an emotional sense of well-being and competency. Music can be a social activity where many children sing or play instruments together, interacting with one another. Children’s music is often accompanied by physical activity or movement, through which children can learn coordination, dances or a series of actions. While music may be classified under
Intellectual Development in the Child Care Licensing Regulation, it can encompass all areas of development
help me please, i read so so much information, probably i just confused...but i'm really really stuck. Which one suits more or close to the answer

You have to write about how you choose the equipment for the age of children you are working with. I put 8 my the age group 0 to 2 years old and I wrote about how I make the selection of toys etc. From the safety perspective for instance make sure there are no small objects that kids can choke, that the toys follow the Australian standards, don't use the toys with label "nothe appreciate for children under. .." etc.

No worries. Hope that helps :) you can also write about choosing the equipment that covers all areas of development (physical, intellectual etc) and as Lorina mentioned :
