Scenario: Larry - Internal and External Support Services

Post by gsharma » Mon Oct 12, 2015 11:06 am

they are both external support strategies. Can you think of some activity that the Educator in Larry’s room could do, within the center, that would help Larry and his Mum?
6. What further internal and external, support or strategies could the educator provide the family to minimise future conflicts of interest for the care of the child involved? Please clearly explain two (2) strategies you would use.
Families may require the expert advice and support, particularly in times of change and for the wellbeing of their children due to lack of parenting knowledge.
1. Provide priority access to services for children who are at serious risk of abuse. In Larry’s situation an educator can assist the family with some government assisting services child safety and wellbeing community services. An important aspect of supporting carer can also be financial support and for this they can refer them to social support agencies and centerlink if they have any low income issue, hardship etc.
2. Enhance services and support for children and families to target the most vulnerable and protect chidden at risk. In times of such cases, an educator can assist the family with some family counseling specialist, parenting information center, child health development and safety programs. By choosing and recommending these services to Larry’s mom can benefit her family with having healthier lifestyle at home and if Larry is being abused these services can help the family for child proper development.

Teacher comment for resubmission : , they are both external support strategies. Can you think of some activity that the Educator in Larry’s room could do, within the center, that would help Larry and his Mum?

How about Centrelink to provide mother with financial benefits and support and Salvation Army to provide family support...

Hope this helps,

Also:

-Provide Larry with change of clothes while he is at the centre and wash the clothes he is wearing
-Offer him a healthy meal at lunch
-Provide a list of family support services where Larry and his mum could get help (Salvo's, Vinnies, Red Cross) etc.

I need help with this too please : 3. When suspected abuse is identified, services are to fill in relevant forms and notify their local authority to report such suspicions.
Services are required to complete a Notification of Complaints and Incidents (Other than serious Incidents) Form NL01.

Locate a Form NL01 in the file library, and use this to record and complete the necessary information to demonstrate how you would make this notification.
**please note that FORM 25 is no longer in use and will not be accepted for this assessment**

Teacher comment : You have provided a detailed description of the incident and you have given me the steps that the Approved Provider has taken to manage the risk but you have not provided a detailed description of the impact on the operation of the service this incident has had. Think about the staff in the room with Larry and what could be the impact on them?

please help I am still confused about this comment thanks
