– Scenario’s
Answer the following scenario’s in regards to ethical and confidential behaviour:

A family ring you at the centre and ask if you can come and pick up their child from home because the battery in their car is flat and they do not have the money to get it fixed right away. The parent says that she has to pay for the childcare day no matter what, so you should come and pick her child up if you are still going to charge for the day, as it is not her fault the battery went flat.

1. What would you do?? (Please ensure you write what you would say to the parent)

Have a think about:

- you cannot leave the premises as you are part of the ratio and you are working
- you can suggest that a neighbour or a friend can bring the child to care
- unethical to go to the families home to bring the child to care
