CASE STUDY
Teagan is the group leader for a group of two year olds. Today she is feeling really exasperated. She can't understand why the children in her group refuse to do as she asks them and why some throw temper tantrums that last for a long time. She complains that the children are always fighting, even though she tells them they all have to be friends and play together nicely.
Are Teagan's complaints fair?
What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
I have answered so far
Teagan’s complaints are not fair. In this age group they can only wait for a short amount of time and they have limited amount of self-control and concern for others. Toddlers are searching for independence, which may result in strong feelings that are sometimes incapable to control.
Is there anything else I could add???
Kim

Re: Promoting positive behaviour
Same case study
If Teagan wanted to express the room limits to the children who we're fighting, what positive statement could she make?
I have know idea other than maybe she could redirect them to different activities but limit the number of children on the activity
