Meeting physical care needs

Post by Kittles » Sat Feb 27, 2016 9:15 pm

This workplace assessment task requires you to watch out for educator actions in the workplace, and identify things in the environment that support educators to meet the physical care needs of young children.
Focus your attention to the following areas:
• rest and relaxation
• toileting and hand washing
• dressing
• snack and meal times.
Record, in the table that follows (or similar) ways individual needs of children are met through the actions of staff and things made available in the environment.

My answers are

Rest and relaxation

Child's need - Rest & Relaxation
Educator actions - put tired child to sleep
Environment - natural light, comfortable temperature, window open for fresh air

Child's need - Toileting and hand washing
Educator actions - child soiled underwear & educator cleaned them up and put clean clothing on child.
Environment - private, clean ?????

Child's need - Dressing
Educator actions - puts infants shoes on for outside play
Environment - ????

Child's need - Snack and meal times
Educator actions - child has a dairy allergy so educator ensures no cheese is in the child's bowl
Environment - ????

Am I on the right track? what do they mean by environment?

Thanks
Kylie
