Post by knickers » Mon Jul 09, 2012 10:25 pm

hi this is all new to me first time eva not sure if im even doing this rite but i hope so im having heaps of trouble with one of my questions on my assignment any feed back would be greatly appreciated its ''describe how you would callaborate with a child about their interests.Ensure that u included how u would *consult with a child and the communication methods u would use
*how u would encourage new ideas
*how u would allow the child sufficient time to express their ideas
*how u would act upon the suggestions of individual children as well a small and large group suggestions
i have wrote pages of ideas but i think i am over thinking the question and none of my writing seems rite thank u for taking the time to help.....

What ages are you looking at?
I did school age as that was the group I was working with at the time and it wsa easy,
We sat down and did up a 'so-called' wkly chart of things the child wld like to do or interrested in(this from my ob's as well).
If younger age's than ask parents, ob's on what they are playing in area's...
To encourage new idea's you can just do 'add ons' from what you were doing with them. eg: Play dough - move into home corner if a child is interested in cooking.
time framing is a hard one, that one is a ever on going thing I find, soem children are more happy to tell you intestersts etc one on one were others are happy to yell it out in a group setting.
to act on a individual again start with asking if anyone else likes this activity eg: cooking "who's been watching master chef? and than work from there.

Hope that helps a lil :)

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope he gets better soon. I do Family Day Care so I haven't had to go into a center luckily as that seems very time consuming if that isn't your current work place.

Good luck with everything :)
