Identify and respond to children and young people at risk

Post by uydrk » Sun Nov 09, 2014 11:21 pm

Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: Identify and respond to children and young people at risk
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? No
Your knowledge: Beginner

Your Question?
"What are obligations to children or young people at risk under the National Quality Standards/Regulations"

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
There's a link to http://www.acecqa.gov.au/quality-areas, but I have no clue what to look for...

Description and Message:
I've plowed through most of the assignment, but I'm stuck with this one. Can anyone help? I also had another one:What are your obligations under the Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics in terms of children and young people at risk? (Choose only one area) and my answer is:
In relation to the children I will:
Respect the rights of children as enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (1991) and commit to advocating for these rights.
Create and maintain safe, healthy environments, spaces and places, which enhance children’s learning, development, engagement, initiative, self-worth, dignity and show respect for their contributions.
Work to ensure children and families with additional needs can exercise their rights.
Work to ensure children are not discriminated against on the basis of gender, age, ability, economic status, family structure, lifestyle, ethnicity, religion, language, culture, or national origin.

Can you help me with these two questions please?
Thank you!

I'd look in Quality Area 2 - Children's Health and Safety
Element 2.3.4

Educators, co-ordinators and staff members are aware of their roles and responsibilities to respond to every child at risk of abuse or neglect.

For Code Of Ethics I think you chose wisely!

Hope this helps,
