CHCCN303A - Designing A Menu That Meets Dietary Guidelines

Post by emily26 » Thu Jul 24, 2014 6:49 pm

Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: activity 20 chccn303a
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? Yes
Your knowledge: Basic Knowledge

Your Question?
design a weekly menu for children that meets the relevant dietary guidelines for children and include in the menu nutritional needs, health needs and cultural requirements.

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
so far I have managed to make up menu which is includes breakfast, morning tea, lunch, dessert, afternoon tea and drinks, and have included alternatives for children who are gluten/lactose intolerant (health needs) and have got meat alternatives for children who are vegetarian (cultural requirements) and I think I have made up my menu to meet the nutritional health needs of children. but what I am stuck on is at the bottom of the menu table it has a space for each day where I need to include 0-12month dietary requirements and I am not really sure what the dietary requirements of a baby mean, would it just be that they would need bottles of milk through out the day and have their food puréed or finely chopped?

Description and Message:
any examples on what the dietary requirements of a 0-12 month old would be, would be great, thanks !!!
