Your Question?
I am unclear on Part B Resource File Project in age group 3-6years in areas of

access/equity/rights of the child
sleep/rest
toileting
personal hygiene
meals
balanced diet
clothes/dressing/undressing
settling/arrival/departures

I need to record the strategies I would use with reference to
1. Practices and procedures you need to adopt
2. Working with individual preferences, needs and requirements
3. Assist independence
4. Acknowledge and support emotional needs during the routine
5. Opportunities and methods to provide child with information related to the routine
6. How the strategies respected the individual and cultural differences

This is my first time posting so apologies if I have gone about it the wrong way

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
So far I have only been able to answer the following -

1. Access, equity and the rights of the child
Really stuck with this one!

2. Sleep/ rest routines
1. Communicate with parents as to what sleep/rest their child requires. Ensure that the areas are hygienically clean and children are not too overdressed/underdressed ie they are comfortable to sleep.
2. Communicate with parents and ensure their child has what makes them comfortable to rest
3. Have a story time before so the child knows after it is rest time and they can go to the area themselves.
4. Understand that some may be reluctant to sleep/rest so I would stay with them a little to help them settle.
5. Have stories, songs about sleep time, maybe use puppets to model behaviour.
6. Communication with the parents and recognising that some children sleep on mats rather than a mattress.

3. Toileting
1. Have age appropriate toilets/wash basins and easy access to the toilets, taking into account any extra items for children with disability ie rails, mixer taps.
2. Check with the child if they would like help, supervise if needed.
3. Ensure the child knows where the toilets are and they are able to go by themselves without asking all the time. Have spare changes of clothes should the child not make it in time and wet themselves.
4. If child upset because they wet themselves sit with them and explain that it is okay and you can help them change into some new clothes. Encourage those children who don’t want to go to the toilets so in time they will feel both comfortable and confident.
5. In group time we would talk about the importance of hand washing after the toilet, read books of children learning to go to the toilet, have posters if how to wash their hands.
