

Shapes are everywhere, in the food we eat, the toys we play with, and the stories we tell. For young children, learning shapes isn’t just about geometry; it’s about noticing patterns, building vocabulary, and connecting with the world around them. These simple, rhythmic rhymes make shape learning fun, memorable, and emotionally engaging.
Space Shadow Cards offer a fun way for children to build visual discrimination and matching skills. Once cut out, children are invited to match each colorful image to its correct silhouette, encouraging attention to detail and spatial awareness.
These cards can be used as part of a quiet activity, a small group game, or even a themed learning center, making them a versatile addition to any early learning environment.
Ocean Animals Tangrams enable children to use tangrams to create ocean animals. The shapes can be positioned to create ocean animals. If tangrams are not available within the learning environment there is a second page of tangram shapes for each sea animal that can be laminated and cut out and positioned onto the sea animal.
Insect Pattern Blocks enable children to develop spatial reasoning and problem-solving skills. It also helps children to sort blocks based on size, shape and colour which creates insects. Visual memory and discrimination involve identifying patterns of relationships and similarities and differences that help children to learn about early representation and problem-solving. Matching and sorting activities can also be good for developing fine motor skills.
Teddy Shape Sorting is a simple shape-matching activity where children have to choose the correct shape to place onto the teddy's tummy. These can be laminated and used with the shapes provided or even as playdough mats. A great way for children to learn about shapes.
