National Recycling Week Activities For Children

National Recycling Week is held on the 13th - 19th Of November. The following provides National Recycling Week Templates, Articles, FREE Printables and Activities that can also be included in the curriculum for children.

About 

National Recycling Week aims to encourage Australians to better recycle. Planet Ark started the campaign in 1996. Better recycling practices help our communities, our beaches and our planet stay healthy.

Printables 

Garbage Recycle Bins Matching 
The Garbage Recycle Bins Matching encourages children to learn about recycling and to sort items in different coloured bins. This is great for children to begin to see how everyday items can be used to recycle. 

Recycling Sorting Mats
Recycling Sorting Mats encourage children to learn about recycling and to sort items to reduce, reuse and recycle. This is great for children to begin to see how everyday items can be used to recycle.

Alphabet Trash Match
Alphabet Trash Match enables children to match the capital letters to the lowercase letters. These are great for learning letters and letter recognition.

Recycling Colouring Pages
Recycling Colouring Pages enable children to colour, paint, and collage each colouring page. Children can make them bright and colourful and learn about recycling too.

Recycling Songs and Rhymes Posters 
The Recycle Songs and Rhymes Posters are great to display within the learning environment and easy and catchy songs to teach to children. These songs are a great way for children to learn about the environment 

Trash Can Colour Sort 
Trash Can Colour Sort is a colour-matching activity that enables children to match the correct colour trash can to the correct colour garbage truck. There are 4 colour trash cans to match per garbage truck.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Posters
The Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Posters are a good reminder for Educators and children on what items are to be reduced, reused and recycled. These can be displayed within a recycling area set up in the service to promote sustainability. 

Recycle Bin Colour Matching 
Recycling Bin Colour Matching enables children to recognise and match colours by matching the correct colour emblem to the coloured recycling bin. This is great for colour recognition.

Recycle, Reuse and Repurpose Parent Poster
The Recycle, Reuse and Repurpose Parent Poster details what Parents can donate from their homes. This is great to display on the Parent Board to inform Parents.

Recycling Counting Cards
Recycling Counting Cards is a counting activity from 1 to 10 for children to match the correct number of trash in the recycling bin. This activity is great for number recognition, for children learning their numbers, for one-to-one correspondence and more.

Recycle Bin Tracing Lines 
Recycle Bin Tracing Lines enable children to trace over a variety of different lines in different directions. This will help children in the development of their pre-writing skills, hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

Reduce Reuse Recycle Information Posters
The Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Information Posters are a good reminder for Educators and Children on what items are to be reduced, reused and recycled. These can be displayed within a recycling area set up in the service to promote a sustainable environment.

Garbage Truck Counting
The Garbage Truck Counting is a simple counting activity for children to match the correct number of garbage bags into the garbage truck. This activity is great for number recognition, for children learning their numbers, one to one correspondence and more.  Garbage bags have been included that can be printed and used for this activity. Playdough, blocks etc. can also be used for counting.

The Monthly Recycling Tracker enables services to keep track of recycling efforts. It details how a service reduces, reuses and recycles each month, including what, how and the changes required. This template can be used for the entire service or each room.
