From 2026, every educator covered by the Children’s Services Award will move into a new, simplified classification structure. Instead of navigating 30 different levels, educators will transition into one of eight new Children's Services Employee (CSE) levels based on their qualifications, experience, and role responsibilities.

For ECT's working in early childhood services, they are on the Educational Services Teachers Award and there are 5 Classification Levels which determines their rate of pay.  

The Children’s Services Award has 8 clear levels. These levels make it easier to understand where you fit, based on your experience, qualifications, and responsibilities. Each level links directly to the minimum wage you’re entitled to, giving educators a straightforward career path and fairer pay structure.
