An educator’s innovative initiative to make the children learn about private parts changes the lyrics of popular nursery rhymes which creates a huge controversy on social media platforms. When some of us appreciate the changes there are some other parents and all do not appreciate it and thrash the changes rudely.

With this fun song children will learn about their body parts through this silly action song about bubble gum.

Heads, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes
Heads, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes
and eyes and ears and mouth and nose,
Heads, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes!

Alternative Lyrics:

Heads and shoulders knees and toes
Knees and toes
Heads and shoulders knees and toes
Knees and toes
And eyes and ears And mouth and nose
Heads and shoulders knees and toes
Knees and toes

Feet and tummies arms and chins
Arms and chins
Feet and tummies arms and chins
Arms and chins

And eyes and ears
And mouth and shins
Feet and tummies arms and chins
Arms and chins

Hands and fingers legs and lips
Legs and lips
Hands and fingers legs and lips
Legs and lips

And eyes and ears
And mouth and hips
Hands and fingers legs and lips
Legs and lips

(Repeat the first verse)

Baa Baa PINK (any colour) sheep
Have You any SPOTS?

Yes Sir Yes Sir (or child's name)
LOTS & LOTS.

One on my knee
And one on my Tummy,

One on my Nose
And that's not funny
(but is really is!!)

Baa Baa Pink Sheep,
Have you any spots?

Yes sir, yes sir
Lots and lots!

Some on my fingers,
and some on my toes!
Some on the end of my little pink nose!

Hints and Tips:

  • Instead of spots use a different pattern (stripes, wavy)
  • Use colour flashcards to help child identify colour of the sheep

Open Shut Them

Open, shut them,
Open, shut them
Give a little clap

Open shut them,
Open shut them
Lay them in your lap

Creep them, creep them
Creep them, creep them
Right up to your chin

Open wide your little mouth
But do not let them in!

Shake them, shake them
Shake them, shake them
Shake them just like this

Roll them, roll them
Roll them, roll them,
Blow a little kiss!

Alternative Lyrics:

Open, shut them.
Open, shut them.
Give a little clap, clap, clap.

Open, shut them
Open, shut them.
Put them in your lap, lap, lap.

High up in the sky, sky, sky.

Wave to me, I'll wave to you,
Let's all say "Bye, bye."

No noises any more more more. (Students creep fingers up their arms and put them over their lips)
