CHCCS400B-Part A question 3 and 4

Post by danzilles93 » Thu Dec 20, 2012 10:54 am

Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHCCS400B-Work within a relevant legal & ethical framework
Your Assignment Type: Case Scenario
Currently Working in Childcare? Yes
Your knowledge: Basic Knowledge

Your Question?
Scenario
You have twins in your room with parents that were both very involved with their children and both signed the enrolment forms when first enrolled a year ago. Since then, the parents have seperated and have drawn up a formal parenting plan which lists both parents as legal carers.
One day the mother confides in you that she is in a new relationship. She asks that you don't allow the children's father to pick them up from care anymore, and to only let the children go with her or the new partner. She explains that she feels that this is better to establish the new family relationship.

Question 3) What are the legal and ethical responsibilities with regard to the mother's request for the new partner to be added?
Question 4) List records or documentation you could refer to in this scenario.

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
My thoughts for question 3 are: There is no problem with adding the new partner but the father has to agree and the enrollment form has to be changed to allow the partner to be added to the contacts listed.
For question 4 i thought of The family law policy and child protection but i've been told more detail is required for this. Not quite sure what detail i need to write about.

Description and Message:
Any ideas or thoughts would be very appreciated. Thought i had finished this assessment but need to fix these 2 first. I really just want to finish it.

Without a court order stating Dad is not allowed the children you cannot stop Dad from picking up the children. Even if this is happening, until the documents have been provided to the centre, we cannot take Mum's word for it.
