Re: stuck on one question
in my head i have all these answers but not to sure if i am on the right track. i basically have that you should contact the supervisor and ask them and see what they have to say, also contact the parent of the child and see if it is ok to give them a tablet. i am not sure if this is right. just looking for guidance and some help

Re: stuck on one question
HI Ashley,
I think also offering an alternative to the child before we reach straight for the pills. Headaches can be caused by dehydration - give the child a glass of water & maybe a cool flannel. Sit them in a quiet spot and encourage them to rest. Check if they feel warm or clammy. Let your room leader/supervisor know what you have done. Then if there is no improvement would I be contacting parent.
Hope this helps

Re: stuck on one question
You do NOT give the child the tablet unless there has been written permission (medication form) from the parent. It also depends on the circumstances. If its panadol, you can only give it to them if they have a fever (or again a written explanation). Obviously if the child is distressed about it, or shows physical signs of headache etc, you would ring the parents and arrange collection.
Hope that helps!

I just have passed this unit. Vhat is right, you just give the child tablet unless there has been written permission from the parent. In this case you should ring the parents
