Scenario: Kea ELC - Negligent Towards Children, Staff & Families

Post by asia92@live.com.au » Wed Sep 19, 2012 3:13 pm

I’m really struggling with these two points and really need assistance. Please helpppppppppp!

Here is the Introduction to my report
In order to provide a positive experience for not only children but staff and family too. Services must provide quality assurance and gather compliance requirements.

However, this may not be the case at kea early learning centre. As the owner, is negligent towards the duty of care of children, staff and family. As a result of this action, staff members were underpaid. The shortages of cleaning items were low. While the methods for nappy changing, bathing and rest time are questionable towards, the policies and procedures outlined.

· Refer to any legislation, standards and regulations relevant to the situation
· Outline best practice principles and emerging trends in service delivery areas relevant to the scenario

I really appreciate it. Thank you.

HI Asia

What a horrible question  You could start out by looking up the National Quality standards. Are you doing any work in centres? If so check out their policies, these should outline the proper way to do things. I will have a look through my papers tonight and see what links I have to other Government agencies. As far as staff being underpaid, you could check out the union (united voice, I think). I don't see how anyone could get away with paying less than the award but that's still "underpaid" as far as I'm concerned.

Good Luck

Hi Asia
I've had a quick look through my notes and I think you should go to http://www.acecqa.gov.au. This site gives you a lot of information about the National Quality Standards and I used it as the basis for this assignment, although mine was a bit different to yours. I'm a bit confused by the report you have outlined. I don't think it is exactly what your assignment says (as it doesn't make sense, e.g. there are different tenses and it says "the shortages of cleaning products were low". Is this a scenario you have been given or have you made it up as an example of a situation to address?
