Experiences To Stimulate Child's Experience Of Art Beauty

Post by mum237 » Fri Mar 09, 2012 3:47 pm

Hi, new to this forum so hope I put my questions in the right place.

Need a little help with my diploma assignment as I have lost my creativity :(

Describe 2 art experiences that could be used to stimulate a child's experience of art beauty one that is appropriate for a two yr old and one appropriate for a 5 yr old.

Describe one way of enhancing an existing play area to promote its aesthetic qualities.

Give an example of a devlopmentally appropriate experience that would stimulate a 5 yr old aboriginal or Tsi child invovement in imaginative play.

Thanks in advance for input. I have so many ideas but struggle to put them on paper. arghhh

Hi Mum237,

Would you be able to include your response to this question so we can see exactly which question you are having trouble with...

I think for your first question think about creative experiences such as ice painting, marble painting, butterfly painting, string painting, water colour painting etc... These all involve colours mixing together to create patterns which really get the children involved and excited about what they are visually seeing.

For your second question, how would you set up a play area to make it more appealing. For e.g. in home corner if you were to set up a kitchen area you can include real spices and foods that the children can explore. Also you could add kitchen utensils such as a peeler for the children to peel oranges carrots etc. Just think about what you can add that a child uses their 5 senses to explore...

For your third question maybe add some dream time stories in the child's play so they can create their own? Not too sure, having a bit of a mind blank..LOL..

Hopefully you kinda get an understanding of the questions now,

Please post up any other ideas!

Cheers :geek:,
