new ratio's

Post by smith76 » Tue Feb 28, 2012 2:37 am

How is everyone going with the new ratio's in their room im in toddler room and we have 12 children with three staff and at times it gets chaotic especially we have so many boys. One idea i have is to split the group up into three.

The other problem we are having is rest time the children are going down fine for rest time but are up early we do give books etc and quiet activites if they have been up for a while but because the nursery room and toddler room are connected by the nappy change area it makes it really hard as its very noisy with the babies.

We have 12 children to 2 staff in my toddler room and it can be chaotic at times.... it would be lovely to have a 3rd staff member in there but the ratio is 1:6 and thats what we get.
Our room also joins the babies with the bathroom in the middle and yep it can be LOUD sometimes and I am constantly closing the 2 doors on either side of the loo to cut out the noise!

My toddler room also has 3 staff to 12 children-thus 1: 4 ratio. ages are 18months to 30 months . What ages are they at your Centre , FiFi ?
