Trial shift at an OSHC

Post by Vanille » Sun Feb 02, 2020 9:31 pm

I'm a first year Uni student about to start a Bachelor of Primary Teaching. I've recently had a really good interview with an OSHC director who was specifically seeking out first year teaching student and wants to bring me in for a 3 hour paid trial shift Tuesday. I'm extremely nervous as I don't have any prior experience working with children (Something they're aware of and don't expect out of first year students) and am worried I'll mess this opportunity up by doing the wrong thing or not doing enough. As someone who doesn't have any prior experience working with children, what should I expect? Is there anything I should bring with me (E.g. things to help entertain the children)? What can I do to stand out? All tips would be greatly appreciated!
