TAFE workplacement Permission

Post by melaboo » Mon Oct 08, 2018 6:57 pm

Hi

I have just started my work placement for the diploma. I have been under the impression that I only need the permission form from parents filled out if I am taking photos. Someone has suggested that it may also be required for observations. Is this true even though I would only be using the child's Initials? Has anyone else had experience with this

Thanks

Yes - since you are using the observations as part of your assignment and not directly related to the individual planning of the child within the service, you will need permission from parents to observe their child.

It can be as simple as "Hi, I'm Mel, currently studying a Cert 3 at TAFE. I am completing work placement within your child's room and one of my tasks is to observe children. May I kindly request permission to observe your child Mike Connor in order to complete my training. Thank you".
