Children's Goals In Programming

Post by gracewfurley » Fri Feb 17, 2017 1:43 pm

Hi,
I've just started in childcare and it's time to start writing goals for our focus children, and I'm stuck.
The children's ages I have are anywhere from 1 year to 1.9yrs.
The two common goals I have for them all are a sense of belonging, and forming an attachment to educators.
I was wondering if anyone could help me in coming up with a few goals for the children.
I really have no idea as writing isn't my forte..
Any help would be much appreciated!

For goals, you can use each of the sub-outcomes of the EYLF. Under each outcome, you can find "children achievements" and these you can be used as part of your goals. For example - you mentioned that sense of belonging seems to be a common goal so some goals could be:

- build secure attachments with one and then more familiar educators.
- confidently explore and engage with social and physical environments through relationships and play.
- show interest in other children and being part of a group

Hope this helps!

Thanks Lorina,
I was more hoping for suggestions like developing their communication, being at ease in their environment, goals for babies. Not so much toddlers and pre schoolers.
Do you have any suggestions?
Anything would be great

Hi,
Here are Some Children's Goals.

(A)create a safe physical environment, and provide a diverse range of experiences to promote children’s development and learning
(B)provide qualified and experienced educators capable of developing warm and positive relationships with children and their families
(c)build responsive, respectful relationships with children and promote their sense of security and belonging.
Thanks
