Ans: A diagnosis is not always appropriate for a very young child or a disability the reason for the behaviour. We can use professional knowledge to draw from our range of known strategies that may be effective. Not all children with behaviours of concern have diagnosed disabilities. Yes, children with impulse behaviour need clear expectations, positive incentives, and predictable consequences if they are to learn to regulate their behaviour.
