Cultural Diversity Within The Service

Hi I'm stuck on a few questions and am not sure if I'm on the right track or not
Question1)
Name some of the ways the service you are doing your placement in identifies the cultural identities of the children?
Answer
Families inform us of their traditions and also of their expectations for their child's education and care during the enrolment process and then on an ongoing basis. Members of the local community might volunteer to tell stories or share a skill with the children so we learn about the community beyond the service. In this way, we build partnerships which are based on the foundations and attitudes, and build on the strength of each other's knowledge and we can also listen to families and include their perspectives in the educational program
OR
-being open and friendly and actively listening to children, family and community members
-becoming familiar with local cultural influences especially if you don't live in the area
-sharing parts of your culture to encourage children and families to talk about theirs
-requesting copies of family photographs to share with the children
-asking how families celebrate special events
-using the service of an interpreter and providing information on different languages when necessary
-asking other staff members who know the child, family or community member well???
Question 2)
What could you do if you are not getting along with a work colleague and you think it is due to the fact you don't share the same beliefs and attitudes about the way the children should be treated in the service?
Answer
im unsure of what the process would be for this question? Maybe ask about her cultural background and try and acknowledge her beliefs and attitudes which may give me a different view as to why she is treating the children in a different way to what I believe they should be treated. Exchange the differences in the cultures to show that we all do things differently??? Could someone help correct the situation if I'm on wrong track as to what I could do in this situation

List some policies and procedures that your organisation has regarding how to provide education to and/or how to work with people from
a- an indigenous background:
-Involve or collaborate with aboriginal persons or groups when planning events,programs,service delivery and organisational development activities
-demonstrate knowledge of local aboriginal groups
-demonstrate knowledge of local aboriginal protocols

b) a diverse cultural background:
-promote and foster a culturally friendly environment
-employ staff that display attitudes and behaviours that demonstrate respect for all cultural groups??
I'm not sure if these are the right policies and procedures? Help
