Turning General Statements Into Specific Statements

Rewrite each statement so that it is provides the educator with specific rather than general feedback.

General statement:
1. The supervisor is concerned that educator Tom does not communicate to his team when he makes changes to the program. "You need to work on your communication skills Tom"

2. Trainee Tamara is often late when returning from her lunch break"Tamara don't you own a watch?"

3. Samir's supervisor is concerned that Samir's does not give the preschool children sufficient notice of transitions.

4.Cara's supervisor notices that when managing behaviuor Cara tends to tell the children what not to do rather than telling them what they need to do, Cara you need to give more thought to how you manage the children's behaviour".

I need to write this specific statement.

Something like:

1. Tom when making any changes to the program it will be really helpful if you could let us know what those changes are so we are aware of them.

2. Tamara I notices your late when returning from your lunch break, please ensure you arrive on time.

3. Samir, it's important to give children time to know on what will be happening next, maybe you could give children a 5 minute warning before they move onto another task.

4. Cara, when guiding children's behaviour we should focus on positive reinforcement by letting the children know what they need to do. I noticed you tell children what they shouldn't be doing, how about you try telling them what your expectations of their behaviour is and see if that helps to manage their behaviour.
