Hello,
I am new to both the industry and Aussie Childcare Network, so please forgive me if I am posting in the wrong place.
I have begun a traineeship at a centre and will have completed 6 units of my study as of next week. I am very concerned about the quality of the centre and do not believe I will receive appropriate experience - in fact I am concerned that I am learning things that are incorrect, unethical and possibly illegal. What I would like to do is end my employment as a trainee at this centre and complete my traineeship at another centre - is this possible?
I'm very unhappy at work and feel uncomfortable talking to any of my superiors about this so I'd really appreciate the advice.

Welcome to Aussie Childcare Network!
I'm sorry to hear that things are not going well at your centre... If your gut feeling suggests that the centre is up to no good then it's best to find another centre.
If you want to transfer your traineeship then you will need to your State Training Services (I have the information for NSW, I can find out who you should contact in your state if you let me know). From here they will discuss the transfer procedure (which needs to be approved) and your employer will need to agree to the transfer as well...

NSW - Good that makes it easier since I'm in NSW too!
Here is who you should contact:
If the employer or the apprentice/trainee wants to transfer, suspend, cancel or vary the training contract and the other party does not agree, then either party must contact State Training Services immediately – phone 13 28 11.
I'm also going to provide you with this booklet on traineeships in NSW - it may help:

Whatever it is if you don't feel comfortable at your centre or like you're not learning anything then it's no point staying. Don't feel bad for the centre... it happens sometimes as the centre you work for doesn't exactly fit in with your values/beliefs or the centre isn't up to standards...
You'll be right!
