Part 2 Toilet Learning
Create a display for an Early Childhood setting in regards to a child's toilet learning.
Demonstrate your knowledge of the following:
- How you support a child's emotional well-being
There are many ways you can help support your child’s emotional well-being at home or at a care center. Talking to the educators at the center to update them on where your child’s at is a big thing. Telling the educators what you do to help your child through this time will also help.
- Strategies for identifying the child cues for readiness
- How you would work in partnership with families to incorporate diverse family child rearing practices
Children learn when they need to go to the toilet at different ages. Generally, your child is ready for toilet training by between the ages of 18 to 24 months. Night-time training can take up to 8 years for the child to stop wetting the bed but most children stop around the age of 5.
- How your knowledge of Erikson's theory will guide your practice
