Re: Agreement Between Parents, Policies, Cert 3 Responsibilities
Hey Annejo
I am also doing my cert 3 and have just finished this assesment!
As for you first question I am not to sure, but as for when the service policies are reviewed, all centres review their policies on a regular basis, ask your centre Director and they will know how often they are reviewed. Generaly policies are reviewed in staff meetings but you could also ask your director.
As for the responsibilities ect of a cert 3 trained worker - most centres have a job description for each job in the centre (ie - childcare assistant, room leader ect). What I did was asked my director for the job description for a childcare assistant which is cert 3 trained and she gave me it. This job description includes obligations and responsibilities of that job. Once you read through it you will soon find the policies it directly relates to.
Hope this helps!!

Re: Agreement Between Parents, Policies, Cert 3 Responsibilities
What agreements are made between the service and parents when children are enrolled?
When a child is enrolled into our centre they receive a parent handbook which outlines every piece of information that is needed to give them the best care that we can for their child.
Within the handbook their is a breakdown of our centre policies, also a publicity permission form for photos, as well a parent checklist so they can make sure that all information has been given to the parent and so we also know that they have read through all the information we have given them as well.
From what I see from this is that they have signed a contract with us in regards to their child that they also will abide by all that is required from them as parents and us as Educators.
What are the key areas of responsibility of an unqualified childcare worker in this service?
• Provide an excellent service to all external and internal clients
• Assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of children's daily routines including arrivals, departures, eating, sleeping, cleaning up and meals.
• Assist with implementation of a high quality early childhood program
• Work in accordance with the legislative requirements under the Children’s Services Centres
• Be a supportive and active member of the Family Services team and attend staff meetings as required
• Participate enthusiastically with the children in their daily activities.
• Actively participate in the National Childcare Accreditation and Quality Improvement System.
• Undertake work with individual children with additional needs under direction.
• Communicate with parents and staff regarding individual children in care and reporting observations when necessary.
• Respect the confidentiality of information regarding children and families in care.
• Assist with children’s personal needs and routines.
• Perform a range of physical tasks to support the health, safety and wellbeing of children in care.
• Ensure the policies of the Centre are promoted and practiced.
• Undertake additional duties as required from the director of the Centre.
• To always abide by the Australian Early childhood Association Code of Ethics and all Council and centre policies.
Hope that helps
