Post by Diana1973 » Fri Dec 11, 2015 8:35 pm

1 why is it important to consult others when developing a job specification?
2 describe a process you have put into place in your current position which allows work practices in your area/team to be continually evaluated and/or improved upon?

1 why is it important to consult others when developing a job specification?

Dont you think it will be helpful for employees already performing for that specific position could assist in developing responsibilities and tasks required.
describe a process you have put into place in your current position which allows work practices in your area/team to be continually evaluated and/or improved upon?

This could be reflective journals, self evaluation questions etc.
identify three potential causes of conflict in the workplace?

What could educators disagree about? Misunderstandings, duties, cleaning up, differences of opinion, paperwork etc.

Hope this helps,

hi Lorina
can you please explain this question for me
1 as a manager it is important to ensure that the workplaces is safe and free from discrimination and bias.
a)outline three measures you could take or mechanisms you could put into place to ensure that this was the case

b)choose one of the measures or mechanism identified in part (a) above and explain how you would go about implementing it

Maybe something like:
outline three measures you could take or mechanisms you could put into place to ensure that this was the case

Having anti-discrimination and anti-bias policies put into place and making sure that all staff are aware of these policies
If there is an issue, make sure the grievance policy is followed by all educators and issues are promptly resolved
Encourage cooperation and equality in the workplace by creating diverse work groups.

From the above you can probably choose something for Q2.

Hope this helps,

Maybe something like:

All parties will have the right to be heard and judged without bias.
All issues are investigated thoroughly and justly.
The standards of conduct or job performance required will be made clear to the staff member by documentation or during interviews.
The staff member will be made aware of the likely next steps in the event that satisfactory performance or conduct is or is not maintained.
The staff member will be afforded the right to be accompanied and represented by an employee representative at discussions or interviews at any level of the discipline process.
When a complaint about performance or conduct is brought to the supervisor’s attention by a third party, the substance of the complaint will be verified before any action is taken on the matter

Ref: Under Performance

Hope this helps,

Undertake a workforce analysis of your current work place and write a report that address the following areas
A.)a forecast of the future needs of your work force in relation to meeting and/or achiving at least one organization obiective.include reference to the requirements of your organizations policies and procedures in relation to undertake this task ( the process and/or procedures that must be followed )
This is the first question on the list

You could probably use the following to come up with an objective and then look at the examples you can use to complete the task:

Ok, so going through the NQS guide above you could choose something like:

Standard 3.3 - The service takes an active role in caring for its environment and contributes to a sustainable future.

Look at page 99, for more information...

This will also help:

Yes! I think that's a good one!

You could also do:

- contact families from the waiting list and see if they still nee a spot
- have an open day (over the weekend) and families can come look at the centre, meet and greet etc. You could also do something a BBQ etc.
- have a free trial day for families
- offer a referral program for existing families
- advertise in your local paper

Hope this gives you some ideas,
