Explanations Of Codes, Practices and Legislations In The Workplace

Q: Please Explain how these codes, practices or legislation apply in the workplace.
NQS-EYLF- ECA code of ethics- UN rights of the child - discrimination and harassment
My answer is :-

NQS: The National Quality Standard aims to promote:
• The safety, health and wellbeing of children 

• A focus on achieving outcomes for children through high-quality educational 
programs 

• Families’ understanding of what distinguishes a quality service. 


EYLF: The EYLF aims to extend and enrich children's learning from birth to five years and through the transition to school.
The EYLF guides educators in developing quality programs for children.
It describes the early childhood principles, practice and outcomes required to support and enhance young children's learning from birth to five years of age, including transition to school.

ECA : The Code of Ethics provides workers with a framework for guiding their behaviour within the childcare profession, to do what is best for children. It sets out the obligations and responsibilities of those working with children and their families.
It also states the responsibilities childcare workers have to their colleagues, the community and the childcare profession.

The UN : It is the first legally binding international instrument to incorporate the full range of human rights.
The Convention defines a ‘child’ as a person below the age of 18, unless the laws of a particular country set the legal age for adulthood younger.
The Convention applies to all children, whatever their race, religion or abilities; whatever they think or say, whatever type of family they come from. It doesn’t matter where children live, what language they speak, what their parents do, whether they are boys or girls, what their culture is, whether they have a disability or whether they are rich or poor. No child should be treated unfairly on any basis.

discrimination and harassment : All employers have a responsibility to make sure that their employees, and people who apply for a job with them, are treated fairly.
This responsibility is set out in federal and state anti-discrimination laws, as well as the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth). Taken together, they make certain types of workplace behaviour against the law.
As an employer you need to prevent discrimination, harassment or bullying from occurring in the workplace.
