CHCCN511A - Supporting Families & Children At Risk of Abuse

Post by WinP » Mon Sep 26, 2011 11:01 pm

Reports of abuse and neglect of children are continuing to increase each year in Australia. Extreme cases of neglect causing death and violence causing death continue to occur in our society.

Social issues such as poverty, homelessness, social isolation within the community, poor access to services such as medical care, good quality affordable child care for children under the age of two years and parenting programs all contibute to child abuse.

Family issues such as poor parenting role models, lack of family support, inter-generational cycle of abuse, violence in relationships, drug addition, poor mental health and poor education are also significant casual factors in the abuse of children.

Investigate the critical role of early childhood services as an effective preventative strategy in relation to child abuse and neglect. You should explore:

a. The role EC services can play in supporting families

b. The role EC services can play in improving the quality life of children at risk of abuse

Reference: National Child Protection Clearinghouse - http://www.aifs.gov.au/nch/

The role EC service can play in supporting families :

1) parent education children that promote caring and positive.
2) parents in developing their skills.
3) knowledge of child development
4) awareness between physical abuse

b. The role EC services can play in improving the quality life of children at risk of abuse

1) relationships between individuals .
2) take control of their health.
3) environment
4)support of volunteers
5) young people and parents.

When parents or adults harm children or young people, it is called 'child abuse'.

Hi WinP,

The response you have wrote is fine, so you have nothing to worry about!

Important! I have noticed that you have created a new separate topic once again for this assignment question. I have mentioned this to you twice in the past already when you were creating multiple topics for the same question. I understand that you require help for your assignment question but like I mentioned in your other topics, you will only need to create 1 forum topic per module. Once again, I have deleted your duplicate topic and please note that creating multiple topics for same question will be considered as spam. So please DO NOT create duplicate topics.

Also, I have noticed that you haven't provided any comments or feedback to your previous topics that you have created to which other users have responded to help you. We would really appreciate it if you return back to your previous posts and complete them... There is no problem asking for support but your contribution in return is important as well!

Cheers :geek:,
