CHCECE005 - Piaget Considers Young Children As Egocentric

Post by Lauris » Mon Dec 07, 2015 7:49 pm

Hi everybody, I need help with this I really find this difficult.

Why did Piaget consider that young children remain egocentric throughout the sensorimotor stage and can become aware of object permanence?

The Sensorimotor stage is characterized by the child experiencing their world through movement and senses. During this stage, the children's thoughts are exceptionally egocentric, meaning they cannot perceive the world from another's perspective or viewpoint other than their own.

Hope this helps,
