Ensuring Arrival and Routines Are Predictable To Children and Families

Hi
im doing my final placement assessments and one of the questions is asking why it is important to ensure that the arrival routine is predictable, supportive and welcoming to children and families?

because each child is different so the educator would have to know which certain children have trouble saying goodbye to mum or dad when arriving and which children dont have trouble. and that the educators are there to welcome and support the children and families to ensure that they are going to be ok and that they will have fun while mum and or dad are at work and that they will be back later to pick you up.
is that correct ?

You could also include:

- Routines enable young children to anticipate what happens next and gives them a great deal of control over what they do during each part of the day.
- To give children a sense of knowing, adds to the predictability and can be used as valuable learning opportunities for children to explore and experiment in a safe and secure environment.
- Routines and transitions help children to develop self control, independence and decision making. Consistent daily routines support active learning.
- Consistency in routines and transitions support appropriate behaviour and a sense of independence for the children.
