Can you help with how to go with this question. I had written the answer for the first one.
5. Decide what the hazards are, along with the risks to educators, children and their families in the scenarios listed below.
a) The cement path from the gate to the entrance of the service has cracked and part of it has subsided.
b) Two double adapters are being used in the same electrical power point.
c) The floor in the children’s bathroom becomes very slippery when wet.
d) Parents leave their strollers and prams in the foyer of the service during the day.
e) The fridge in the babies and toddlers room has a frayed electrical cord with wiring exposed.
Assess each scenario using the hazard grid in Table 5.2 of your textbook, ‘The early childhood educator for Certificate III’. Decide on the possible consequence of each hazard and its likelihood; the risk factor (Extreme, High, Medium or Low).
Identify the actions required to remedy the hazard – how it can be fixed.
Record your responses in the table that follows over the page
Hazard/s identified Consequence Likelihood How can the hazard/s be fixed?
a. The cement path from the gate to the entrance of the service has cracked and part of it has subsided.
Major injury Likely The crack should be repaired as soon as possible and a warning sign should be placed near the crack until it is repaired.
b. Two double adapters are being used in the same electrical power point.
c. The floor in the children’s bathroom becomes very slippery when wet.
d. Parents leave their strollers and prams in the foyer of the service during the day.
e. The fridge in the babies and toddlers room has a frayed electrical cord with wiring exposed.

Re: Identifying Hazards and Their Risks
Hi Lorina,
Could you please check the answer?
Hazard/s identified Consequence Likelihood How can the hazard/s be fixed?
The cement path from the gate to the entrance of the service has cracked and part of it has subsided.
Major injury Likely The crack should be repaired as soon as possible and a warning sign should be placed near the crack until it is repaired.
Two double adapters are being used in the same electrical power point.
Fatality Likely Don’t piggyback two or more double adapters as this poses a fire hazard. Instead, use a power board.
Use power boards with built-in safety switches.
The floor in the children’s bathroom becomes very slippery when wet. Minor Injury Not Likely Keep the floor dry as soon as it is wet and also place the wet floor sign there and keep an eye on the kids that they may not go there when we. If they wanted to go to the toilet it should be with complete supervision.
Parents leave their strollers and prams in the foyer of the service during the day. Minor Injury Likely Ask the parents to keep the strollers and prams away in a kid’s safe spot or in a room so that the children will not fall while walking or playing.
The fridge in the babies and toddlers room has a frayed electrical cord with wiring exposed.
Major Injury Very Likely Change the electrical cord of the fridge as soon as possible with a new one or repair and fix it so that the children cannot reach.
Thanks
