CHCORG303C - Standards and Regulations Relating To Policies

Post by beczoon » Sun Sep 27, 2015 11:13 am

I've just started the Work Effectively assessment, but I'm having trouble understanding the first question:

"1. All employers and employees are required and have a duty of care to work in ways that comply with relevant legislative obligations and committed to working with the sectors frameworks around professional and ethical codes and standards.

a) Name 5 key standards and/or regulations that relate to the organisations and your work duties or practices. You should include Work Health and Safety as one of your examples.

b) For each of your examples in 1a, state which service policies they relates to, discuss how
they will guide your practices/impact on your work role."

I'm not sure where I should be looking for anything that will help me answer. I'm an online student and it takes a while for my teacher to email me back so I thought I'd try asking on here.. What standards or regulations should I be looking at?

So when working in an early childhood setting there will be a number of laws and regulations that you need to comply with so this question is basically asking you what they are and how these impact you as an educator.

For example:

Education Care and Services National Law
National Regulation
Child Protection Legislation
Workplace Health and Safety
National Quality Standards

Now you need to find out how these link to your role as an educator...

Hope this helps,
