LA016843 - Scenario: LiLu - Future Planning

Post by SheilaMcDougall » Thu Sep 17, 2015 10:18 am

I have my Jotting and feel that I have made a good Analysis but have no idea with the future planning as I have based my info on emotional strengths what could I do to continue that theme? Thank you for any guidence you may be able to share as I really want to get this cluster done and dusted as soon as possible.

Jotting Template 2
Child’s name: Lilu 2 ½ Observer: Sheila McDougall
Setting: Day care centre

Date: 17/09/2015
Jotting 1: Lilu arrives at centre with dad around 8am, Lilu says that she is the only one there. Dad reassures her that there will be others there. Lilu willingly opens the gate to enter the centre

Date: 17/09/2015
Jotting 2: Lilu goes to a group of friends, willingly walking away from dad. Lilu sees the rainbows on the floor and goes straight to the wooden one to show mum.

Date:17/09/2015
Jotting 3: Mum says we have to go, Lilu asks if she can wave good bye at the gate. Lilu gives dad one more kiss and hug and asks if dad is picking her up ‘more early then last time’ dad reply’s yes at 4:30

Analysis (interpretation): Lilu is aware that she will be staying and shows some concern when she thinks that she is the only one there. She is confident and willing to stay but does want the reassurance that she will be picked up by dad and when. This showing that she understands that they will be leaving but that they will return latter. She is confident and engaged with the other children.

Future planning:?

Your jottings and your analysis is good!

When I read through your analysis a follow up experience that jumped out at me was to create a picture routine which includes the time. For example: 8am - Arrive at the centre (add photo of Lilu and friends coming to the centre)... 4:30pm - Get picked up (photo of Lilu getting picked up). This will help Lilu to understand what is "next" within the day and know when to expect. It will also help her to understand when she is getting picked up...

Hope this helps,

hi
I have a question which is
The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) reinforces the principles laid out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
In the table below list whether each Article from the UN Convention relates to the concept of Belonging, Being or Becoming as they are defined in the EYLF.
Article from the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child
Article 12 (Respect for the views of the child): When adults are making decisions that affect children, children have the right to say what they think should happen and have their opinions taken into account.
Article 13 (Freedom of expression): Children have the right to get and share information, as long as the information is not damaging to them or others. In exercising the right to freedom of expression, children have the responsibility to also respect the rights, freedoms and reputations of others. The freedom of expression includes the right to share information in any way they choose, including by talking, drawing or writing.
Article 29 (Goals of education): Children’s education should develop each child’s personality, talents and abilities to the fullest. It should encourage children to respect others, human rights and their own and other cultures. It should also help them learn to live peacefully, protect the environment and respect other people.
Article 30 (Children of minorities/indigenous groups): Minority or indigenous children have the right to learn about and practice their own culture, language and religion. The right to practice one’s own culture, language and religion applies to everyone; the Convention here highlights this right in instances where the practices are not shared by the majority of people in the country.
Article 31 (Leisure, play and culture): Children have the right to relax and play, and to join in a wide range of cultural, artistic and other recreational activities
Can you tell me please what is the LINK TO EYLF.
Acoording to me this is the answer
1
Outcome 1 - Children have a strong sense of identity.
2
Outcome 5- Children are effective communicators.
3
Outcome 4 - Children are confidant and involved learners.
4
Outcome 1- Children have a strong sense of identity.
5
Outcome 2 - Children are connected with and contribute to their world.

Thank you! Don't know why I didn't think of that on my own as we just added one of these to our pre-school room to help with some of our childen who need to know the routine!
Thanks again!
