Scenario: Iona - Upset When Being Dropped Off

Post by Eilleen » Thu May 28, 2015 4:18 pm

Can someone help I am almost brain dead over this one

Question is Iona is 3 years old and is usually cheerful but now she gets upset when her dad drops her off.

• q What is the change you need to be concerned about?
My answer is I would be concerned, when she is normally happy and all of a sudden she is upset when dropped off.

• How could you adjust Iona’s routine to minimise her distress when her father drops her off in the morning?
My answer is We could try to distract her by talking to her when she first comes in,

If Iona continues to be upset, how could you respond
I don't have an answer for this one

You could also form a routine of getting her dad to get her settled at an activity before he leaves and giving her a quick cuddle to say goodbye while you stay with Iona until she settles down.

Talk to Iona and find out why she is upset. Talk to dad about changes at home/family.

Hope this helps,
