If you do a job search you may be able to find a "floater" position. As a floater you are not assigned to one room in particular as you would typically. You would "float" between each rooms during the course of the day. As a floater you are able to get full time work and as far as wages go it depends on your qualification but you would most probably be paid as a Level 3 - since it is similar to an assistants position... Also just so you know not all floating positions require you to work full time some centres may offer part time work a a floater as well. It really depends on the needs of the centre.

I am currently looking for work as I am new to working in the child care industry, could I ask if I can be a floater part time?! then go on to doing the diploma thanks that was helpful.

You could but it really depends on the needs of the centre... No harm in trying though!
