Re: Observations
I now understand what they mean by observation & follow up but I am still unsure what they mean by EYLF outcome. Please help!
Re: Observations
Hi Lilybeth7,
EYLF outcome relates to the outcomes in the Early Years Learning and Development Outcomes, under the headings of
Outcome 1 Children have a strong sense of identity, Outcome 2 Children are connected with and contribute to their world,
Outcome 3 Children have a strong sense of wellbeing, Outcome 4 Children are confident and involved learners, Outcome 5 Children are effective communicators.
They are in the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework book. Or you can use the Belonging, Being, Becoming Book. If you look at the outcomes there are examples, you just choose one that relates to your observation.
E.g. if your observation refers to the relationship between the child and the educator the EYLF outcome could be Outome 1 Identity... This is evident for example when children build secure attachment with one and then more familiar educators.
(The first line under outcome 1 in the EYLF book).
I hope this makes sense,
Good Luck,
Jules..

Re: Observations
You can also check out the following article available in Resources, Childcare Professionals. It explains all about the EYLF.

Re: Observations For Each Developmental Area
Thanks very much Jules. I did read the article in resources, however it went straight over my head. Your response made more sense to me. So I just want to clarify that for each of my observations I have to pick the ELYF outcome that was most relevant to what I observed.
Re: Observations For Each Developmental Area
Yes that's right, keep in mind there may be more than one outcome that relates to the observation. I'm glad that you understood what I was trying to say!!
Good luck for the rest of your course..
