Hi guys!
So I've taken it upon myself to get myself a job to support my studies at Uni. I've come across this job ad, and applied. What are some things I need to know before applying?
I'm 17 turning 18, finished school last year, in my first year in Uni and new to the workforce. My job interview is soon and I was wondering what you guys thought about this.
Job details:
37.5 hours a week - part time
Trainee position
Competitive rates
What can I expect my salary to be? I've checked on fairwork.gov and the lowest I've meddled with was at around 10 bucks an hour, and the maximum was 18 bucks an hour. I'm leaning more towards the $10 since $18 seems quite high for someone new to the field.
I don't have a CERTIFICATE III, and am wondering what some fees associated with the position are?
I've read online that there are fees that I need to pay to the institute to even work, as well as getting a Working with Children's Check card (I'm cool with paying for this), but for $10 an hour, it seems rather low.
Should I expect assignments or any theory work during this contract period should I get the gig?
That aside, I am quite keen to work with children. Money's pretty tight with me at the moment, but I do want to work with children - it's just that I have to prioritise maximum salary earnings from a student perspective.
Childcare Trainee Questions!
Re: Childcare Trainee Questions!
Since you are currently doing a uni course I don't think you are able to get this position, as a traineeship should be for a student who has not previously studied a traineeship before or isn't studying. So, I'm not sure that you are applicable for the position as you are currently doing uni.
