Setting The Environment Based On Developmental Areas

Post by H.T. » Sat Mar 03, 2012 5:44 pm

Hi All
this is the question.....
For each developmental area listed9 in the first coloum) identify how it can be fostered by the enviroment, resources and setting(both indoors and outdoors enviroments) Then put some suggestions in the third column of any modifications which can be made in relation to culture, family background and interests.
physical.......
how enviroments fosters development domain...my answer
Physical activity are normally done outside , as running ,climbling playing with balls ect arent safe to do inside. the children can plan these activities themselves or the staff can set up the activity, physical activity are good to keep the children fit and healthy

need to answer for the modifications (third column)i cant think of how the enviroment can be modify to suit culture..

Emotional......
how enviroments fosters development domains ...my answer
children can be emotional when they get dropped of at childcare as there enviroment has changed, they can laugh through blowing bubbles, looking at a mirror and seeing there reflections, finger painting outside, when a child is happy they feel more secure to explore the enviroment.

need to answer for the modifications (third column)

thanks

Hi H.T,

If you have a look at the Resources page under Childcare Professional, you will find a topic called "Interest Areas for Children - Kids Playing Areas". Each of the articles in here identify an interest area which is typically setup in the room environment. You will also find in each article that it lists how the particular area is beneficial for the children. Have a read through them and see if it helps you with your question.
